Acupressure
Duties
and responsibilities: Unlike conventional Western medical practice, acupuncture professionals
are trained to treat the entire individual rather than the specific illness or
condition. They take into account a patient's physical, mental and emotional
condition in order to determine the proper course of treatment. In addition to
providing acupuncture therapy, practitioners help their patients achieve
balance and wellness in their everyday lives.
Salary: Average salary is 49,844
Education: In states that require licensure for massage
therapists, aspiring acupressure technicians must undergo formal training.
Programs that offer acupressure training may integrate other methods of Chinese
healing into their curricula. Topics of study may include anatomy, business,
ethics, reflexology, shiatsu, aromatherapy and acupressure bodywork. Students
also are likely to participate in supervised clinical practicums.
Reflection: I don’t think this job would fit me because I’m not into
this kind of
Job and wouldn’t meet the
education requirements.
